ResilienX is pleased to extend its relationship with NASA through participation in the agency’s Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) National Campaign. ResilienX will join three teams to conduct research, simulations, and operational flight demonstrations supporting multiple elements of NASA’s National Campaign activities:
NASA’s AAM National Campaign is aimed at accelerating the realization of emerging aviation markets for passenger and cargo transportation. “We’ve been working with NASA and our industry partners for years stressing the importance of ISSA and the need to create a robust and resilient AAM ecosystem. We are excited to bring our expertise to this National Research effort, spearheaded by NASA, to create this ecosystem,” said Ryan Pleskach, Co-founder and CEO of ResilienX.
As a part of these ISSA efforts, ResilienX will be integrating their FRAIHMWORK® (Fault Recovery and Isolation, Health Monitoring frameWORK) software platform into the various design, simulation and testing activities expected to take place. FRAIHMWORK is used to monitor the health, integrity, and performance of the various ecosystem components and to orchestrate a mitigation response when adverse or off-nominal conditions are encountered.
“We believe that safety assurance capabilities need to be pervasive and horizontally integrated throughout the AAM ecosystem. NASA’s support on these concepts has been incredible and we are starting to see them come to fruition,” says Andrew Carter, Co-Founder and CTO of ResilienX. “As a part of almost every facet of the National Campaign, we will work with NASA and our partners on the edge cases, adverse conditions, and failure modes that these AAM operations are likely to encounter during real world operations. The ability to detect and address these situations safely must be proven to regulators for AAM to be fully realized.”
